One Step at A Time

_{"Georgia Cielle." Our instructor called.
The girl next to me smiled confidently, flicking her overgrown bangs off of her shoulder, only for the soft hair to fall right back into place. She strode forward, but I couldn't stop the trepidation in me. This test was hard. Georgia was strong - very strong - but Georgia was reckless. It'd knocked out about half of the other hopefuls around us. But how to tell her...? After a moment of letting my thoughts fumble, I decided directly was best. I clapped my hand on her shoulder, only for her to look back at me over it, confused. Man, this is awkward... "Uh... Look, Georgia, just... keep on your toes, alright?" Kind of weak, but enough to be... at least chummy, yeah?
Expecting her to shrug my hand off I pulled it away, but to my surprise she pressed down on it with her own. "Noted." With a wild smile, that was all I heard out of her, before she rushed forward.
I kept my hand hovering for a bit, before letting it drop to my side, useless.
I sighed.
At least that's... progress, right?}
